Get Fit Palm Desert

Mayor Cindy Finerty has invited all Palm Desert residents to participate in Get Fit Palm Desert – a series of free activities each month designed to promote physical fitness and good health.

Get Fit Palm Desert continues Saturday, February 13, with a free, 30-minute personal training session. Sessions will take place between 8:30 a.m. and noon at Next Level Fitness, 73-600 Alessandro Drive. For more information about Get Fit Palm Desert, please call 760-346-0611, ext. 423.

New Funding for Energy Independence Program

The City of Palm Desert has announced the release of $6 million in new funding for its popular Energy Independence Program. The City’s Office of Energy Management will accept loan applications from Palm Desert property owners on a first-come, first-served basis for energy efficiency improvements and solar projects beginning Monday, February 8.

Property owners can apply in person by appointment only. Applications submitted by contractors on behalf of property owners will be accepted by appointment with a limit of one application per company each day. Completed applications will be reviewed by Office of Energy Management staff. Staff will schedule appointments with customers whose applications are complete to review and discuss the loan documents and processing.
