Celebrating its 11th anniversary in 2010, the “Make Someone A Star” award program recognizes high levels of customer service by allowing residents to turn the spotlight on their favorite cashier, salesperson, gardener, clerk, or other retail/service professional.

“We’re looking for that unique situation where a retail or service provider went the extra mile to provide excellent customer service,” said Ruth Ann Moore, Palm Desert economic development manager. “In the past, winners have changed tires, delivered eyeglasses to the airport and even worked throughout the night on flooded homes.”
