Civic Center Park

The Civic Center Park is one of the largest Palm Desert parks and recreation areas you can visit. Civic Center Park is located at the northeast corner of Fred Waring Drive and San Pablo Avenue (map it).  The 70-acre park includes the following amenities:

  • 4 baseball fields
  • Concession/restroom building
  • 6 tennis courts with 2 pickleball-only courts (Monday 8:00 AM - 1:30 PM and Tuesday thru Sunday 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM)
  • 4 volleyball courts
  • 3 basketball courts
  • 5 picnic pavilions
  • Amphitheater
  • Skate park
  • Tot lot

In addition, the park contains a spectacular collection of public art including the Holocaust Memorial, the Peace Memorial, the Dreamer, and Desert Dessert (map of Park).

Civic Center Park is the "showpiece" park for the City of Palm Desert Parks and Recreation Division, and is the center for public activities including a variety of musical concerts-in-the-park, Fourth of July celebrations, and many other special events.
